About The Name

Such is life.

I want to be clear about what I mean when I say this, especially since it is the title of this whole thing.

There are all kinds of complexities and paradoxes that occur in life. I am still learning to be content with what God providentially allows to occur, whether it makes sense or not.

And sometimes, these life occurrences really don’t make sense.

Like how an answer to a question can produce more questions.

Like when a baby is born with a disability.

Like how the more competent you are, sometimes the less competent you feel.

Like how less can be so much more.

Like when someone just dies unexpectedly.

We try to figure some things out, asking why and how. And though we may answer, we really cannot answer completely because we never know it all.

Lately, one of my responses to these kinds of life occurrences has been the title of this blog.

It is not to make less of an event or experience.

It is not to invalidate someone’s feelings or thoughts as unimportant or insignificant.

It is not to disregard complex and tragic situations that occur beyond our control.

It is not to reinforce tradition or reject change.

It is not to place a limit on what God can do.

It is my honest attempt to accept something as it is in any given moment and to acknowledge the greatness and sovereignty of God in that same moment.

Now, what does this have to do with my story?

Well, if you read my posts, I think you’ll begin to find the answer to that question for yourself. I suggest that you start with my first post and see where you go from there. You might end up with more questions though.

Such is life.

Love Love Love,

Jesse
